Most folks imagine those who need to repent are the immoral, the adulterers, the liars, the promiscuous, those who engage in the practice of homosexuality, who have abortions, who abandon their children, who rape and steal and murder. And such sinners are in serious need of a change of heart and actions, so help them God. However, notice
God's condemnation of our Israelite forefathers concerned their "evil ways," the "evil" they weren't ashamed to commit in front of God that led to their eviction notices:
pagan religious practices and "harmless" traditional heathen customs!
Ancient Israel, like apostate Christianity today, thought it was perfectly acceptable to mix and match pagan error with biblical truth, even though God's Word clearly forbids it!
